Standard float fishing and ledgering techniques work well on the Iona Bait Pool all year round. Worm, maggot and sweetcorn or Power Bait can all be used to terrific effect. Tactics lately have varied depending on the conditions on the day. The water is still coloured, but fishing really well again with some very nice healthy speciemens getting caught & lost! Occassionally fish are taking off the bottom, but generally they are taking in the top 3 feet off the float. Favourite Baits have been maggots or white/yellow or orange Power Bait. Sometime virtually taking on the surface too!.. Opening times at the moment: Monday - Thursday 9am~4:00pm Friday - Sunday 9am ~ 4:00pm |
